The Fort Worth City Council approved a rezoning request for a 7.68-acre tract of land near Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance to make way for a senior living center.

Current situation

The rezoning for 10620 N. Riverside Drive currently is from general commercial restricted to low-intensity mixed-use. According to a presentation at the April 8 meeting, the future use of the land will be for the independent senior living complex and commercial properties.

The plan is for Heritage Alliance Senior to be a 233-unit age-restricted senior living community for people 62 years of age or older, according to city documents.

A conceptual plan was presented to council for the future use of the land, but a formal site plan will need to be approved at a later date for construction to start, according to a council memo.

The Village at Golden Triangle, a 322-unit build-to-rent community, already is under construction to the east of the property that was rezoned, according to a council memo.

The setup

The mixed-use development would have 6,600 square feet of retail space facing North Riverside Road, as well as a leasing center for senior housing.

The housing would feature three- and four-story living units, a dog park, a pool and fitness amenities, according to city documents.
