The basketball court closed Feb. 17 and is scheduled to open Feb. 24 after upgrades are complete.
What's happening?
The renovations cost a total of $406,500 for this fiscal year, said Roanoke officials.
The courts floor is being completely replaced since the court floors have been the same since the recreation center was first built in 2005. The final renovations include re-striping the court lines.
Renovations started in October with painting the lower level of the gym. The gym was closed Oct. 28-31 to complete those upgrades.
The floor of the gym was replaced Nov. 14-18 and the weight room floors were completely replaced Nov. 18-27.
No other upgrades to the recreation center are currently scheduled, said Roanoke officials.
