Fort Worth City Council's newest member took the oath of office May 17.

Alan Blaylock represents District 4 on City Council. He was sworn into office with his family in attendance at the May 17 council meeting.

Blaylock was elected with 52.04% of the vote in a four-way race in the May 7 special election. He replaces Cary Moon, who stepped down from his council seat to run for a state legislative office. Blaylock's term will expire in May 2023.
