Early voting opens May 24 for the June 5 local runoff election for Fort Worth Mayor and Fort Worth City Council District 7.

Deborah Peoples and Mattie Parker will compete in the mayoral election while Zeb Pent and Leonard Firestone will compete for the seat on the Council.

In the original election on May 1, both elections featured fields with several candidates. Since no candidate in either race earned at least 50% of the vote, both elections proceeded to a runoff, with the two top vote-getters advancing.
