The Keller Farmers Market is a nonprofit organization that opens a seasonal market at Bear Creek Park with fresh Texas produce, meats, tamales, artisan bread and other goods, according to its website.
The market is currently led by executive director and former Keller council member Sheri Almond.
“The Keller Farmers Market started as a small idea to bring local farmers, small businesses and families together right here in the heart of our community,” Almond said. “We’ve grown into something much bigger: a Saturday tradition, a place where connections grow, where small businesses drive and sometimes jump ship [to become] a brick and mortar."
While the proclamation for the anniversary happened at the meeting, the market officially opened April 10, 2010, city officials said.
