For owner Hayley Smith, opening a bookstore is a dream come true. The fact that it’s in Keller makes it that much better.
“I'm a lifelong reader, and it's always been my dream to open a local bookstore,” Smith said. “My family and I are eager to provide Keller with a bookshop they can be proud of, find their latest read and meet new people to further strengthen our community."
Smith designed and decorated the shop herself. While books—mostly fiction, nonfiction, children's, young adult and Christian—are the main items for sale, there’s a lot more to the store than just books.
“We also sell gifts and home decor and offer a children's story time on Saturdays outside, when the weather cooperates,” Smith said.
Beyond being a bookstore, the space also houses Keller’s first co-working space, Keller Headquarters.
“We love being a place that [the co-working members] are comfortable walking through to come zen out and shop for books in between phone calls,” Smith said. “And then just being a space next to all the green space in Keller, we love that.”
The grand opening will run all day April 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be special sales going on as well as popcorn and treats for patrons. A gift card raffle is included as well.
“We’re really excited,” Smith said. “We’ve been really grateful for the support that we’ve received. It’s exciting to see how much Keller reads, and we just love being a part of the community.”
