Jim Hinton Baylor Scott & White Health has appointed James Hinton to new president and CEO.[/caption] The Baylor Scott & White Health board of trustees has appointed James Hinton as the health care system's next president and CEO, effective Jan. 16, 2017. Hinton will take over for retiring President and CEO Joel Allison. Hinton has served as the CEO for Presbyterian Healthcare Services since 1995, and has been with the system since 1983. He served on the American Hospital Association board of trustees from 2011 to 2015, becoming the board chair in 2014. Hinton received a master's degree in healthcare administration from Arizona State University and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of New Mexico. "I have always been impressed with Baylor Scott & White’s reputation for high-quality care, for its dedication to its mission, its service to its communities and its innovative strategies," Hinton said in a news release. "I am honored to now be in a position to help continue to advance the organization and its move toward population health." Baylor Scott & White Health has centers and hospitals across the state, including in Allen, Colleyville, Frisco, Grapevine, McKinney, Plano and Southlake.
