Medical Center of McKinney is conducting a $1.3 million catheterization lab renovation.
“As an accredited chest pain center, it is imperative that we provide the highest level of care for our patients,” said Craig Turner, director of cardiology services. “Through this remodel, we will be upgrading equipment and capabilities, providing our patients with the most advanced cardiovascular services.”
The new lab, which is scheduled to be complete in December, will offer state-of-the-art technology benefiting several specialties, including cardiology, radiology, neurology and neurosurgery.
Highlights include advanced 3-D imaging of the vascular system, which allows the physician to identify and fix complex blockages more quickly and with less radiation. The lab will also feature latest technology that will allow physicians to perform complex procedures for patients with blockages or bleeds in the brain and connecting vascular system.
