Beverly Powell is running for Texas Senate District 10.[/caption] Burleson ISD board of trustees member Beverly Powell announced June 7 her intention to seek the Democratic nomination for state Senate District 10. “I am proud to announce my candidacy to serve the people of Senate District 10 in Tarrant County," Powell said.  "I’m running because it’s time for elected officials to listen, work hard and build partnerships that promote investment, bring new jobs and create opportunities for strong families and bright futures—that’s what I intend to do." Powell was born in Fort Worth and raised in Burleson. She earned her Master of Business Administration at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. She and her husband, Charles, have three sons and seven grandchildren. “I grew up in North Texas," she said. "I chose to raise my sons here. My sons and their wives have chosen to raise their children here. My husband, Charlie, and I love the life we’ve built here. It’s time for new leadership that cares more about families here in Tarrant County than about narrow ideology or endless division, and I will work to provide it.”
