Richardson breaks ground on Titleist center at Sherrill Park Golf Course

Richardson broke ground on Sherrill Park Golf Course’s new training center on Sept. 19.

The center will include a fitting center in partnership with golf equipment company Titleist and is expected to open spring 2027, per a news release from the city.

The gist

The $5.7 million construction project includes the new training center as well as the renovation and expansion of Sherrill Park’s maintenance barn and surrounding facilities.

In addition to the Titleist Fitting Center, the 2,650-square-foot training center will also contain two indoor evaluation and hitting bays and a small conference room. This will be Titleist’s first fitting center in North Texas.

The training center will allow instructors to conduct lessons in all weather conditions and aims to “elevate the overall Sherrill Park experience,” per the city’s release.

A closer look

At the fitting center, a Titleist Fitting Professional will work one-on-one with golfers to optimize their golf clubs, using a TrackMan launch monitor and equipment matrix to analyze a golfer’s swing.

The construction also includes site improvements around the maintenance barn, including drainage, grinding and paving, new fences and gates and water and sewer utility work.
