Parking restrictions will be coming on two streets near Carroll ISD schools.
Southlake City Council voted during the Jan. 20 meeting to establish no parking from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Bordeaux Drive, between South Carroll Avenue and Lorraine Drive and on Ascot Drive between North White Chapel Drive and Saratoga Drive.

According to city documents, staff have received multiple resident concerns regarding school-related parking congestion along Ascot Drive and Bordeaux Drive. These concerns primarily relate to traffic circulation, visibility, and access challenges during peak school pickup periods.
Old Union Elementary School is near Bordeaux Drive, while Ascot Drive is near Carroll High School.
The restrictions aimed to improve traffic safety, flow, adequate road clearance and ensure access for emergency vehicles.
According to city documents, the Southlake Police Department and Southlake Public Works conducted on-site observation to look at the conditions and the operational impacts.

The no-parking signs will be similar to those placed on Dean Way, Winding Ridge Trail and Bluffview Terrace in 2015 near schools, according to a presentation given at the meeting.
The signage will prohibit the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles. The prohibition against parking in such an area shall not be effective until the signs are in place.
According to city documents, the fine for violation could be up to $500.
The cost
The Public Works department will place the signs. The cost will be $3,400, coming out of the general fund.
