Dallas Love Field Airport and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport have seen a large number of cancellations and delayed flights due to the expected impact of Winter Storm Fern.

More than 1,300 flights were cancelled or delayed between Jan. 23 and Jan. 24. According to Flightaware.com, 117 flights into DFW Airport and 30 into Dallas Love Field were cancelled Jan. 23, which accounted for 10% and 2%, respectively, of flights into the airports.
As of 5:30 p.m. Jan. 23, there were 103 delayed landings into DFW Airport and nine into Love Field. Travellers leaving both airports had fewer cancellations or delays.
DFW Airport had 48 cancellations and 171 delayed outbound flights, while Love Field had 16 cancellations and 14 delayed flights.

The largest number of cancellations for flights in and out of those airports is on Jan. 24, according to FlightAware.
Leaving DFW Airport, 635 flights have been cancelled, while 603 flights that were supposed to land at DFW Airport are now also cancelled. Love Field’s numbers include 90 flights out cancelled and 91 flights into Dallas cancelled as of 5:30 p.m. Jan. 23.
Those numbers, for both airports, are at least 64% to 73% of the expected traffic, according to the travel website.
American Airlines and Southwest are the top two airlines with cancellations.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, no ground stops have been issued for DFW Airport or Love Field as of 2:30 p.m.
During a Jan. 8, 2025, winter weather event, the FAA halted all flights into the Dallas airports, according to previous reporting.
