What’s happening?

Work planned for 2026 took a step forward when council approved a contract not to exceed $730,000 for survey, utility engineering, civil engineering, bidding, and construction administration and construction inspection services with Teague Nall and Perkins Inc.

The Fort Worth company will plan roadwork on Oakmont Drive, Roaring Creek Court and Greenbriar Court.

Due to remaining funds in the 2025 street project fund, Roaring Creek Court and Greenbriar Court were added for the 2026 projects, according to town documents. Oakmont Drive accounts for $580,000 of the $730,000.

Also on the agenda

Council was provided an update that the Iverness Drive Drainage improvement project has been completed.

The $2 million project started in January, and the final acceptance was issued Oct. 28, according to town documents.

Wildstone Construction LLC was awarded a contract during the Dec. 19, 2024, Town Council meeting. The project was to alleviate the flooding on multiple private properties during heavy rain events, according to previous reporting.

By accepting the project, the town started its two-year maintenance bond period with Wildstone Construction, which, if any issues arise, the contractor will repair them. Town documents show the project was primarily funded with the American Rescue Plan Act and supplemental support from the Stormwater Utility Fund.

One more thing

Council held a special meeting at noon, before the regular meeting, to authorize the issuance of combination tax and revenue certificates of obligation bonds for $8.15 million.

City manager Brandon Wright said that a typographical error was noticed in a required posting for the sale of the bonds. So, council had to approve going the bonds again. Piper Sandler & Co. was the winning bidder, and due to declining interest rates, the town received a lower rate Nov. 10 than approved Aug. 25.

The change will produce a net savings of $191,175, according to town documents.

The bond money will fund the roadwork on Forest Hill Drive, Paint Rock Court, Palmetto Court, Oakmont Drive, Roaring Creek Court and Greenbriar Court; streetlight projects at Bobcat Boulevard and Parkview Drive; and streets/parks shop remodel and sidewalks projects at Parkview Drive, Durango Drive, Skyline Drive and Creekside Drive, according to town documents.
