With major renovations and expansions coming to Byron Nelson High School, the town of Trophy Club is working on improving traffic flow in the area.

Town Council approved a professional service agreement with Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $686,000 within the fiscal year 2024-25 budget during the May 12 meeting.

Current situation

The contract for Fort Worth-based company covers topographic and boundary surveys, right-of-way easement and acquisition support for three parcels, design for roundabouts, bid phase support, construction administration and on-site construction inspection services for paving and storm drain improvements, according to city documents.

The road work spans Bobcat Boulevard and will include Marshall Creek Road, Parkview Drive, Trophy Club and two entrances to the high school.


The details

According to city documents, the Bobcat Boulevard traffic project aims at traffic safety, circulation and pedestrian mobility near Byron Nelson High School and Medlin Middle School, both part of Northwest ISD.

The total project is $4.5 million, with $2.5 million coming from a 2023 city bond and $2 million from a Denton County Transportation Road Improvement Program grant, according to city documents.

What happened?


In 2024, Town Council members moved forward with a roundabout at the intersection of Bobcat Boulevard and Marshall Creek Road, according to previous reporting.

A city document stated the area of the roundabout will feature pedestrian enhancements, including crosswalks with flashers, and sidewalk extensions to improve safe access to nearby schools.
