Three new construction projects are coming to Southlake, including improvements to three intersections across the city.

Davis Boulevard and West Continental Boulevard

The city will be updating and improving the intersection of Davis Boulevard and West Continental Boulevard. “Improvements will include traffic signalization, modified eastbound and westbound approaches, crosswalks and sidewalks, and an improved culvert crossing through increased drainage capacity,” according to the city. Southlake City Council approved funding for a temporary construction and right-of-way easements in an amount not to exceed $155,155 at an April 5 meeting. The purchase of the easements are "essential to the design and construction of the project," according to the council's agenda. The project appraisal did not include the anticipated cost of the site improvements.

FM 1709 and Pearson Lane

The council also approved an interlocal agreement with the city of Keller to make improvements to the intersection of FM 1709 and Pearson Lane. The improvements will include adding designated “left-turn lanes from North and South Pearson Lane onto FM 1709, including traffic signal and pedestrian modifications,” according to Southlake city documents. The project is expected to cost around $3 million, with Tarrant County covering 50% of the total cost, or $1.5 million, and Southlake and Keller covering 25% each, or $750,000 per city.

North Peytonville Avenue and Raven Bend Court

City Council members also unanimously approved a bid by HQS Construction, LLC to make improvements to the intersection of North Peyton Avenue and Raven Bend Court. The project will address and improve storm drainage problems and prevent excess stormwater overflow, according to the city. Other improvements to the intersection include “pedestrian improvements, including a sidewalk to close an existing gap,” according to the city. The project will not exceed $952,269.

Projected timelines for the upcoming construction projects are not yet available.
