In the late fall crews opened the new northbound SH 121 and SH 360 bridges to westbound SH 114 into temporary traffic patterns as work continues. The bridges will allow for a smoother transition between the two highways. Construction crews are also rebuilding the new northbound SH 121 off-ramp to William D. Tate Avenue. Commuters can temporarily access William D. Tate Avenue through the northbound SH 121 and SH 360 exits to westbound SH 114. Crew officials report that construction is currently 80 percent complete, and the team will complete construction in 2018.

The interchange project is a Texas Clear Lanes Project and was funded to relieve congestion on multiple Texas highways. When completed, SH 121 and SH 114 will have direct connectors for SH 114, SH 121 and SH 360, which will minimize weaving, reduce congestion and improve safety in the area.
