On Tuesday Southlake dignitaries joined representatives of the Methodist Health System to officially open Methodist Southlake Hospital at 421 SH 114, Southlake.
"When you walk in this building now you can hear a new heart beat," Southlake Mayor Laura Hill said. "And a heartbeat that is part of our community now, and we are happy to welcome you and to embrace you."
The hospital, which was formerly Forest Park Medical Center Southlake, was purchased by Methodist Health System in May after the
facility filed for Chapter 11 protection in January. It is MHS's seventh acute-care hospital.
Methodist Health System agreed to pay $9 million for the hospital operator’s assets and assumed $8.6 million in debt. Methodist owns a 51 percent stake in the hospital operation, with the physician investors retaining the other 49 percent.
“Methodist Health System has long had Southlake at the top of our list for expansion opportunities,” MHS CEO Stephen Mansfield said. “Whether measured by growth, beauty, city leadership, amenities for its citizens, high-performing schools, or flourishing businesses, Southlake, Texas, is a phenomenal community and we look forward to being an integral and growing part of the city’s success.”

The hospital offers treatment options in several specialties, including bariatrics, orthopedic and spine surgery, plastic surgery, urology, gastroenterology, endoscopy, otolaryngology (ENT), gynecology, pain management, general surgery, hand surgery, neurosurgery, breast surgery and podiatry.
