The Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake areas have seen several updates to the local hospital systems in or near the cities, including new programs and buildouts.

Here are three updates from local hospitals in the area.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Grapevine

Within the last year, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Grapevine earned the status of a Comprehensive Stroke Center, which is the highest level of specialized stroke care, said Matthew Olivolo, Baylor Scott & White’s manager of North Texas media relations.

According to The Joint Commission, this means the Grapevine location offers specialized stroke care, including advanced imaging, neurovascular specialists and the hospital is equipped to handle multiple stroke types and increasingly complex cases.

Methodist Southlake Medical Center

The hospital will start installing a helipad in mid-June with an expected completion date by the end of September, said Sherri Lewis, the community and public relations manager for Methodist Southlake.

The helipad will be added to the west portion of the hospital and is being built to move patients who need to be airlifted to another hospital for treatment.

Before, helicopters taking patients to another hospital landed in a grassy area near the medical center.

Texas Health Southlake

The Southlake location added the Texas Health Care at Home initiative to its services in May, according to a news release.

This model brings hospital-level clinical care directly into patients’ homes within a 25-mile radius of Texas Health Southlake. It is available to patients with Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans who have conditions such as heart failure, asthma, pneumonia and complicated urinary tract infections.

Texas Health Southlake is the sixth hospital in the system to offer this service, the release states.
