A turning lane will be added near Trophy Club Town Hall.

During the Dec. 9 town council meeting, an agreement was approved for a cost share of removing and reconstructing a median along Trophy Wood Drive.

The details

During a June 24 meeting, town council approved a development agreement with Beldonia Homes for construction of seven townhomes on Trophy Wood Drive. With the construction that started, homeowners associations for three different subdivisions reached out to the city about allowing a break in the median to help vehicles enter and leave the new development in both directions, according to town documents.

According to the presentation at the meeting, town staff said the median change would allow for left-hand turns into the town hall parking lot, and allow left-hand turns into the new development. This would reduce u-turns performed at Jaime Court and Hanna Court.

The agreement calls for the city to pay 50% of the median improvements, which is $30,000, while Beldonia Homes will pay the other half for the project.

What else?

Council decided on candidates for the Denton Central Appraisal District Board of Directors and Tarrant Appraisal District Board of Directors during the meeting.

Town council voted to split its 20 votes, with 10 going to Rob Altman and 10 going to current board of director member Alex Buck for Denton.

For the Tarrant board, Fred Campos got the town’s one vote. Campos is a Grapevine native who is currently serving on the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD board of education.
