At the Trophy Club Town Council strategic plan work session on May 28, council heard that 48 residents participated in the focus group and 127 people responded by survey for the plan.
“We had a nice participation and community from the town residents,” Mayor Jeannette Tiffany said.
Zooming in
Tiffany noted the strategic plan was under the leadership of Town Manager Brandon Wright and that department head staffers also participated. She said council will work on the plan June 6 and June 7 during a council retreat.
“Our goal today, really, is to review this document, ensure that it is in harmony with what the council wants at this stage, and if the council would like to see any changes to this before we go ahead and set it in stone and go on the next phase where we develop the initiatives,” Wright said.
This strategic plan updates the current plan and will be presented to the community as a plan that endeavors to guide development for the next five to 20 years, Wright said.
The details
The plan has five focus areas and 18 objectives, Wright told council, and there will be almost 60 initiatives from the objectives, and then town officials will make incremental progress from those initiatives. Those five focus areas were:
- Prioritizing public safety
- Promoting quality of life
- Strengthening infrastructure
- Upholding housing standards
- Supporting businesses
During the discussion in the work session, Wright received feedback from council about the focus areas. Wright said department heads, community and others put “hundreds and hundreds” of hours into creating the strategic plan suggestions.
