The Colleyville Public Library Foundation hosted a 20th anniversary celebration of the Colleyville Public Library on Oct. 19. The fundraising event featured food, auction items and an author presentation.

The library opened its doors in November 2003, according to city records. Since then, its collection has grown from 17,000 to over 70,000 physical items, including books, DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, magazines and audiobooks, as well as a digital collection of over 200,000 e-books and e-audiobooks.

Other highlights throughout its 20-year history include the addition of a second floor, a children’s area, a story time room and meeting spaces.

“There’s just something special about the personal touch at the Colleyville library, where our staff always goes the extra mile,” Mayor Bobby Lindamood said in a video announcement. “We are so thrilled to celebrate this 20-year milestone.”
