Grapevine has named a new chief financial officer after navigating the budget season with an interim in the role.

Jeff Strawn, who had been acting as the chief financial officer, has been named as the permanent replacement for Greg Jordan, the former chief financial officer who departed earlier this year, effective Sept. 11.

The overview

Strawn has worked for the city of Grapevine for the past eight years after holding various financial positions with Verizon for more than 30 years and spending two years with the city of Fort Worth. As chief financial officer, Strawn oversees several departments, including purchasing, accounting and the budget.

The position is also in charge of finances for the municipal court and the Grapevine Housing Authority.

“The city of Grapevine finance team is an exceptional group of people that I have had the pleasure of working with for the last eight years,” Strawn said. “I look forward to leading the team to provide financial assistance and reporting for the city.”

Quote of note

“Jeff Strawn is a true professional who has been a great team player for the last eight years,” City Manager Bruno Rumbelow said. “We are excited he accepted the permanent CFO role, and we look forward to his financial expertise and leadership for many years to come.”
