Last year there was talk of an $809 million JPS Health Network bond package being on Tarrant County residents’ November ballot.

However, when met with strong opposition at town hall meetings, Tarrant County Commissioners Court chose to hold off.

Some voters might be wondering if the package will make its way to this November’s ballot.

Robert Earley, president and CEO of JPS, said although commissioners can call for a bond election at any time, it is unlikely it will be this year.

Earley said right now hospital staffers are in the stage of providing data to the commissioners, such as how many patients they see, how many providers work there and what the physical capacity of the hospital is. The future bond could include a new psychiatric facility, cancer center and expanded women’s services.

The last JPS bond was held in 1985.
