The Texas Women’s Open, a golf tournament organized by the Northern Texas Section of the Professional Golfers Association of America, has a new name and home starting in 2024 after a multiyear sponsorship deal was announced with the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau as the title sponsor.

The newly named Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open will be held at the Grapevine Golf Course in Grapevine on May 29-31.

The overview

The tournament will be played on the Pecan and Mockingbird nines of the facility, according to a news release about the tournament.

“It’s a great honor for Grapevine and our Byron Nelson-inspired golf course to host the historic and prestigious Texas Women’s Open incorporating the legends of LPGA Championship,” said Paul W. McCallum, executive director of the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Registration for the event is open now for professionals and competitive amateurs age 18 or older through May 23, and can be completed through the Northern Texas PGA’s website. The starting field for the Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open, which has a projected $75,000 purse, will be 144 players, per the news release.

What else?

Proceeds from the event will also benefit college scholarships awarded by the Northern Texas PGA Foundation's scholarship program, including the creation of the Destination Grapevine Texas Women's Open Scholarship, which will be allocated for a junior tour member from the Grapevine area who is attending college in the fall.
