Q&A: Meet the Republican primary candidates for Texas House District 98

Why are you running for office?

I’m running to bring accountability, transparency and common sense back to the state government. As a parent, immigrant, small business owner and former educator, I’ve seen how broken systems hurt families. Texans deserve leadership that listens, protects rights and fixes problems instead of protecting insiders.

What are the biggest challenges facing the state?

Affordability, property taxes, government overreach, lack of transparency and erosion of trust in institutions. Families are stretched thin, small businesses are struggling and Texans feel shut out of decisions that affect their lives—especially in education, courts and local governance.

How do you plan to address these issues?

By pushing for transparency laws, fiscal discipline, taxpayer protections and stronger oversight of government agencies. I support policies that empower parents, protect constitutional rights, reduce bureaucratic waste and ensure laws are applied fairly—not selectively.

What would your top priorities be if you are elected?

Lowering property taxes, protecting parental rights, strengthening transparency and accountability in government, supporting small businesses and defending constitutional freedoms. My focus will always be practical solutions that help families thrive and restore trust in public institutions.

Why are you running for office?

I’m running for state representative to lower costs, finish the job at the border and protect our values. I believe the government should be limited, accountable and focused on families. I want to deliver permanent property tax relief and keep Texas affordable and free for the next generation.

What are the biggest challenges facing the state?

Affordability is the biggest challenge. Rising property taxes, insurance costs and government-driven expenses are putting pressure on families and seniors. I’m proud to be endorsed by Governor [Greg] Abbott because I’ve proven I can cut through bureaucracy, expose corruption and deliver results for taxpayers.

How do you plan to address these issues?<br>

I’ll focus on permanent property tax relief by eliminating the M&O property tax and capping appraisal growth. By reducing property taxes, cutting waste, fraud and abuse and reducing red tape, we will drive down housing and energy costs and reduce taxes.

What would your top priorities be if you are elected?

My top priorities are permanent property tax relief, restoring affordability for families, strengthening public safety, including border security, and increasing accountability by banning taxpayer-funded lobbying and improving transparency so the government works for citizens, not special interests.

Why are you running for office?

I’m answering the call to fight for our shared conservative values. House District 98 deserves a battle-tested conservative who delivers results, not rhetoric. As Keller’s mayor, I’ve shown what’s possible when you put conservative principles into action and I’m ready to take that same commitment to the Texas House.

What are the biggest challenges facing the state?

The greatest long-term challenges facing our district are rising property taxes that threaten homeowners and seniors, de-incentivizing illegal immigration and a Robin Hood recapture system that has taken over $60 million dollars away from our public schools in House District 98.

How do you plan to address these issues?

We must put Texas on a serious path to rein in property taxes by controlling government spending and responsibly using surplus revenue for core functions like education and infrastructure. We must also secure the border and continue funding Operation Lone Star. Texas should remain vigilant against illegal immigration challenges ahead.
