According to unofficial votes, Colleyville residents have renewed the Colleyville Crime Control and Prevention District.

There were 4,886 votes for the proposition with support at 84.64% of the vote. Votes against the propositions reached 15.36% with 887 votes. The district will be authorized for another 20 years.

According to early results from Colleyville's special election, residents are leaning toward approving the renewal of the Colleyville Crime Control and Prevention District.


There are 4,879 votes for the proposition with support at 84.63%. Votes against the proposition are at 886, or 15.37%.

Early results from a May 6 special election show Colleyville residents may approve continuing its Colleyville Crime Control and Prevention District.

Established in 1991, the district supports crime control and prevention programs throughout the city. A half cent of sales tax was approved to support the district for an initial period of five years, according to the city's website.


In 2003, voters renewed the district for another 20 years.

If 2023's proposition is approved, the district will be authorized for another 20 year period.

Early voting results show there are 3,959 votes for the proposition with support at 84.65%. Votes against the proposition are at 15.35% or 718 votes.

The district supports a portion of the Colleyville Police Department's budget, including 13 police officers, six school resource officers, dispatch software, weapons replacement and SWAT training.
