During the Carroll ISD board’s regular meeting May 19, Superintendent Jeremy Glenn provided an update on the employment status of several teachers and other staff members. Concern over the future of these individuals previously caused a backlash in the community.

The details

“Your voices have been heard,” Glenn said regarding the outpouring of support in the community for these various teachers and staff members whose future employment with the district was unclear.

Glenn gave the following updates regarding various staff members and positions:
  • The second choir position has been reinstated and a candidate is in mind
  • The board reinstated David Markley as Southlake Carroll boys basketball head coach
  • Ryan Wilson, principal of Carroll Senior High School, remains under contract with CISD through the 2025-26 school year
Christina Benhoff, principal of Carroll High School, was also involved in these personnel issues facing the district. She has accepted a position with Keller ISD for the next school year, where she will be the principal of Timber Creek High School.

Board President Cameron Bryan said that while personnel decisions made by the board are done so for the benefit of students and staff, they are oftentimes matters that cannot be discussed in the open.

“Please understand that by law we cannot discuss individual personnel matters in a public forum,” Bryan said. “However, your input informs our oversight and guides our decision making.”
