Christina Benhoff comes to Keller ISD from neighboring Carroll ISD where she served as the principal of Carroll High School. Concern in the CISD community grew after word spread her contract was not renewed.

The backstory

Dozens of Carroll ISD community members showed up to the Carroll ISD school board meeting May 5 to support Benhoff and Ryan Wilson, principal of Carroll Senior High School, and to oppose the district’s recent actions regarding fine arts programs and coaching staff positions.

CISD Superintendent Jeremy Glenn said both individuals remain principals of their schools and both have contracts in effect through the end of the 2025-26 school year.

“Procedurally, the district will consider the renewal of their contracts along with those of other staff at a future meeting,” Glenn said.

A closer look

Benhoff was one of five individuals who were hired during the May 15 KISD board meeting.

“I’m incredibly honored to be selected as the new principal of Timber Creek High School,” Benhoff said. “I come to this role with 18 years of experience and I’m excited to bring that experience for this new chapter.”
