The overview
District officials reviewed improvement plans for all 21 GCISD schools during a Sept. 23 meeting. Campus improvement plans are required by the Texas Education Code. They outline a plan for improving student performance each year, according to the meeting agenda.
Each campus’s improvement plan is completed by its principal and a Campus Excellence Committee composed of staff, parents and community members. The plan includes a list of identified strengths, areas of needed improvement and key strategic actions for the 2024-25 school year.
In building the plans, officials review data specific to each campus, and they use the information to make action plans in accordance with district priorities, Chief Academic Officer Shiela Shiver said.
“This is where we really see our priority scorecard report come to life,” Shiver said.
