Trustees agreed to update 67 existing cameras and install an additional 165 security cameras throughout the district.
The 67 cameras are out of warranty, district staff said, and also have a lower image definition. Updating the cameras will bring them up to standard.
Due to security reasons the precise locations of the cameras were not disclosed.
Trustees approved the project for a cost not to exceed $250,000. This amount is less than what was budgeted, according to district documents. Funding for the new cameras is available from the 2017 bond package funds.
