Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake residents are still filing unemployment claims, but at a lesser rate than a month ago, according to Texas Workforce Commission data.

Grapevine had a total of 919 unemployment claimants in the April 22-May 23 time frame. That number has since declined to 507 claimants during the May 20-June 20 time frame.

During the same windows, the number of Colleyville's claimants decreased from 336 to 189. Southlake's decreased from 354 to 154.

Tarrant County’s top five industries for unemployment claims from May 20-June 20 were temporary help services, full-service restaurants, limited-service restaurants, elementary and secondary schools, and aircraft manufacturing, according to the Texas Workforce Commission data.

The statewide unemployment claims now total more than 400,000.

The No. 1 industry for statewide unemployment claims is full-service restaurants, followed by temporary help services and then limited service restaurants at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.
