A sign on the door said the store closed for the final time at 4 p.m. Dec. 31.
McAlister's is known for its handcrafted sandwiches, salads, stuffed baked potatoes and sweet tea. The eatery also offered fresh, made-to-order catering options, including breakfast, snacks, spud bars, salads, sandwich trays, box lunches and desserts.

Pinstack is close to opening its Westlake location, which will be the seventh for the Dallas-based company.
The 53,360-square-foot venue will sit on a 5.5-acre plot of land, along the north side of Parish Lane and west of SH 170 along the Westlake-Roanoke city line, according to town documents.

Construction for Tex-Mex restaurant Vidorra starts in Grapevine
Construction on Vidorra, a Tex-Mex concept with roots from Guadalajara, Mexico, began April 23 in Grapevine.
According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, construction and renovations on the freestanding building is expected to take more than six months. The renovations include exterior modifications, such as new lighting and paint, and interior construction such as new ceilings, finishes and plumbing.

Owner Dan Weinberger has been serving sandwiches at the corner of Main Street and West College Street since 2002.

According to previous reporting, the location seats 418 customers.

Kate Weiser will open the doors for her chocolate store in Grapevine on Nov. 15.

3 restaurant updates at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport
Whataburger and Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will be opening new spots inside Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. There is also one eatery that is leaving the airport.
A lease agreement with MultiRestaurants Concepts LTD, which will operate Whataburger, was discussed at the DFW Airport board meeting in November, while Cane’s confirmed a new location will be coming to the airport.
