Kiddie Academy will be constructed on Colleyville Boulevard following Colleyville City Council unanimously approving the replat request during its regular meeting April 1.

The overview

The request involved splitting approximately 4.75 acres into two lots so that Kiddie Academy Daycare can be constructed on the 1.41-acre lot located at 4313 Colleyville Blvd. The remaining lot will continued to be used as soccer fields.

The site plan for the development includes a 10,490-square-foot building with an outdoor play area on the side and back of the building. The building plans show six total classrooms for infants, toddlers, 2-year-old children, 3-year-old children and 4-year-old kids.

The building will also have a 5-foot wrought iron fence surrounding the perimeter with a landscape buffer between the fence and Colleyville Boulevard at the council’s request.

The details

Kiddie Academy has over 300 locations across the country and is growing in Texas, Engineer Kevin Patel from Triangle Engineering said. The company has bought around 15 locations in Dallas-Fort Worth and will continue to grow, he added.

The zoning change and special use permit was approved Jan. 22 for the 4.75-acre lot with the intention to only build on 1.41 acres because that was all that was needed for the daycare center, a representative from Kiddie Academy said.

What’s next?

Construction is expected to begin June 1 with an anticipated opening date prior to the 2026-27 school year, a representative for Kiddie Academy said.
