The location that once featured Western Sizzlin’ Steak House was rezoned and a developer plans to build two houses on the back portion of the lot in Grapevine.

A rezoning request from Northern Hills Properties was approved by both the Grapevine City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission during a joint meeting held July 16.

The details

The total lot size is 0.908 acres and of that 0.0429 will be still be zoned highway commercial district at 736 E. Northwest Highway, according to city documents. On the back portion of the lot, the developer will construct two 3,633-square-foot single-family residences, according to city documents.

The houses would face West Wall Street and would be constructed near existing residential houses.


The background

The property was rezoned from highway commercial district to governmental use on Nov. 19, 1996, for a Grapevine-Colleyville ISD office, according to city documents. On Aug. 21, 2012, it was rezoned back to a highway commercial district.
