Sunbelt Rentals, currently at 321 E. Dallas Road, had plans approved for a new 23.320-acre development during the Grapevine City Council meeting March 21.
The new location will be 1035 Texan Trail on the southeast corner of Texas Trail and Coppell Road behind Great Wolf Lodge. The property had a conditional-use permit application and a planned development overlay reviewed by the Grapevine Planning and Zoning Commission during a dual meeting with council; it was approved by both groups.
A regional headquarters and training center will be constructed as the main building. There will also be four buildings to house the heavy equipment and machinery, such as power tools, generators, scissor lifts and lift buckets, according to the website.
Documents show the headquarters will be constructed to meet the LEED Silver requirement and will face the roadway of Texan Trail. It will be three stories tall, or 52 feet, and cover 41,790 square feet. The four other buildings will be one story each, ranging from 26.5-33 feet in height and between 12,181-22,017 square feet.
The main access to the buildings will be on Texas Trail. Coppell Road, which will have additional entrances for the business employees, will also be improved to meet city standards. 817-488-3399. www.sunbeltrentals.com
