The filing period for the May 6 election opened Wednesday and ends at 5 p.m. Feb. 17. On the Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake city councils there are two council seats that will be on the ballot in each city. Voters in Carroll ISD and Grapevine-Colleyville ISD boundaries will also be deciding on board of trustees positions. As of 4:20 p.m. Thursday here are the candidates that have filed:
Grapevine
Place 5 and Place 6 on the Grapevine City Council are up for election in May.
• Place 5 candidates: Incumbent Chris Coy
• Place 6 candidates: Incumbent Duff O'Dell
Colleyville
In Colleyville, Place 3 and Place 4 are up for election. Currently, Mayor Pro Tem Chris Putnam holds the Place 3 seat and Jody Short holds the Place 4 seat.
• Place 4 candidates: Mike Sexton
Southlake
Place 1 and Place 6 are up for election in the city of Southlake.
• Place 1 candidates: Incumbent Shahid Shafi
• Place 6 candidates: Incumbent Gary Fawks
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD
GCISD has three board of trustees positions up for election: Place 5, Place 6 and Place 7.
• Place 5 candidates: Incumbent Jesse G. Rodriguez
• Place 6 candidates: Doug Noell
• Place 7 candidates: Incumbent Jorge Rodriguez
Carroll ISD
CISD has four board of trustees positions up for election: Place 1, Place 2, Place 3 and Place 6.
• Place 1 candidates: Incumbent Michelle Moore
• Place 2 candidates: Incumbent Bradley Taylor
• Place 3 candidates: Incumbent Sheri Mills
• Place 6 candidates: Todd Carlton
Early voting will take place April 24-May 2.
