Salience Health, a psychiatric health care practice that specializes in a more holistic approach to working with mental health, is moving its Bedford office to Southlake by the end of the summer.

The details

Salience Health uses psychiatry and primary care to diagnose and treat issues, such as depression and anxiety, to create a tailored, holistic plan for each person, said Je Ewing, the marketing director for Salience.

She said the collaborative team consists of a psychiatrist, an advanced practice provider, a therapist and a care navigator who all work together to give a comprehensive diagnosis with an individualized health plan instead of a one-size-fits-all diagnosis. There are also primary care physicians available for consultation.

“We’ll get patients who come in reporting symptoms of depression, but after a thorough evaluation, we sometimes discover it’s actually anxiety along with something like a vitamin D deficiency,” Ewing said as an example.

Salience also provides Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation therapy, or TMS, which uses magnetic fields to stimulate specific areas of the brain to help treat depression. This treatment is considered when more traditional avenues haven’t been effective, Ewing said.

The treatment is FDA approved and uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate specific areas of the brain that are associated with mood regulation, according to previous reporting.

Zooming in

Ewing said a new patient with Salience Health will give their information over the phone detailing what services they would like. From there, the Salience team helps schedule them for right appointment, Ewing said.

They will come in for a psychiatric evaluation, which includes a patient health questionnaire, which will help determine if a patient needs to lean more into primary care treatment or psychiatric treatment, though both medical specialists will work together.

“It's an entire treatment plan,” Ewing said. “It consists of many services to support you.”

Salience Health also has locations in Allen, Dallas, Frisco, McKinney and Plano, according to its website.
