The Grapevine City Council and Planning & Zoning Commission approved a conditional-use permit during the July 15 joint meeting.
The specifics
Owner Kody Keuter has operated the business since 2009. For the past five years, it has been located in Haltom City.
Keuter said he hopes to open the business by the end of July and is waiting on the final permitting process.
Patrick Brown, an Icon Automotive employee, spoke to the joint meeting. He said business focuses on high-end vehicles, with the average vehicle value serviced ranging from $150,000 up to $10 million.
Fixing rock chips, road debris damage, minor scratches and dent repairs are some of the services that are offered.
The details
The location was once the home to Grapevine Powersports, according to background provided during the meeting.
The existing building is 12,988 square feet and the existing 40-foot pole sign will be refaced with Icon Automotive signage, according to the application.

The background
Keuter was an engineer at Lockheed Martin Fort Worth when he founded New Image Auto Detailing in 2009. The mobile detailing operation grew and now has eight employees, according to the presentation.
