The construction-themed adventure park that started in Katy announced July 16 that it would be opening its second location in Grapevine.
Families and children can operate real, full-size construction equipment, professionally engineered with modifications that make it safe for kids to use. Designed for both fun and education, Dig World provides a hands-on experience for the builders of tomorrow, according to a news release.
“Grapevine Mills has become a premier destination for immersive entertainment, from Meow Wolf to Legoland Discovery Center, to adventures at The Escape Game," said Joe Szymaszek, Grapevine Mills general manager. "We’re thrilled to welcome Dig World to the mix as it brings a whole new level of hands-on, family-friendly fun to our center.”
The estimated opening is spring of 2026, according to a news release. It will be located in the southwest corner of the mall, near the intersections of W. Grapevine Mills Circle and Anderson Gibson Road, near Entry 1 of the mall, according to a company representative.
Also of note
The Grapevine Mills location will feature exclusive attractions developed in partnership with Frisco-based Dude Perfect, including a construction-themed trick-shot station and interactive family challenges.
Dude Perfect is a family-friendly media brand with more than 60 million YouTube subscribers, according to a news release.
“We’re excited about partnering with Dig World and bringing some new attractions to Grapevine Mills Mall,” said Cody Jones, Co-Founder of Dude Perfect. “This is just the beginning—we can’t wait to see these one-of-a-kind experiences all over the country.”
The background
Dig World co-founder Jacob Robinson went on the TV show “Shark Tank,” and investor Robert Herjavec sealed a deal to help Dig World expand, according to a news release.
Robinson’s idea came from his son, Pierce, who has special needs after suffering from bacterial meningitis when he was young. Robinson told the Shark Tank investors his son was always mesmerized by construction equipment, which spawned his idea for the theme park.
"Dig World is going to be huge; it’s fun, it’s exciting, and it’s got real potential to grow nationwide," Herjavec said in a news release. “Jacob’s passion and determination are exactly what I look for in a founder.”
According to previous Community Impact reporting, Dig World received a $200,000 investment from Herjavec.
Dig World, also co-founded by Alex Carroll, opened at Katy Mills mall in March 2022, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
