The Southlake Tennis Center hosted an event May 10 to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

The impact

During the anniversary celebration, there was a Parent-Child Red Ball Tournament, kids tennis Olympics, doubles games and a radar gun to test serve speed, as posted on its social media channels.

The facility, located within Bicentennial Park, has 17 lighted hard courts and two indoor courts. When the tennis center opened, there was 13 courts with a temporary pro shop, according to its website.

The courts are open year round and sponsors adult leagues, junior programs for all ages, private and group lessons and tournaments.


What else?

The United States Tennis Association named Southlake Tennis Center the facility of the year in 2011 and 2020 and was named a USTA premier facility, one of only two in Texas, in 2024, according to its website.

“Reaching 25 years is an incredible milestone for the city of Southlake,” Mia Gordon-Poorman, Southlake Tennis Center general manager, said in a news release. “We have been so fortunate to partner with the city to provide a public facility that has been honored both locally and nationally for its excellence in facility management, innovative programming and meaningful community engagement.”
