Colleyville Mayor Pro Tem Brandi Elder gave an economic update during the April 1 City Council meeting on how much money was redeemed for restaurants that participated in the city's winter gift card program, which is an initiative by the economic development team to aid local restaurants.

Over the course of the program, there were 4,600 gift cards distributed with 3,385 redeemed for reimbursement by participating restaurants. The reimbursement totaled $122,675, with Gloria's Latin Cuisine having the largest reimbursement at $19,390.

The winter gift card program was active all throughout February and ended March 9.

Last year, 4,000 gift cards were distributed and 3,620 gift cards were redeemed. The reimbursement totaled $126,700 for all participating restaurants in 2024, which was the restaurant-only gift card program's inaugural year.


What else?

Many economic development programs were initiated in 2018 due to the construction of SH 26 including the Colleyville Gives program and the gift cards program, Assistant City Manager Mark Wood said.
