Texas General Store, located along Main Street in downtown Grapevine, closed Jan. 20.

Owner Jessica Cruz posted on social media about the closing date, which is a little earlier than the announced date of Jan. 31. The store celebrated its 10th anniversary Aug. 22, she said.

However, the store will move to Grapevine Mills in February, according to the social media post. Cruz said she doesn't have an exact opening date yet.

The Texas-themed store sold unique gifts, apparel, decor and food items that are made in Texas or have a Texas flair, according to the website.

The building Texas General Store was located in is listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.

According to the website, the building dates back to at 1914 when C.E. Stewart bought The Confectionery and it became City Drug Store in the 1940s. The building was restored in 1980 by Horace Gilliam, according to a historical marker, and Gilliam’s name is above the entry door.
