Owned by Amanda and Scott Sharp, Volofit offers 50-minute group classes with high-intensity interval training. While the exercises change each class, Amanda said every workout session works toward endurance, strength, power and agility, which are the brand’s four pillars.
“Nothing is fixed to the floor, so [the gym] can completely transform every day,” she said. “It doesn’t get boring.”
The brand’s name “Volo” derives from the Latin root word for “I wish” or “I want,” which aims to answer every person’s choice to be fit, according to its website. Gym members wear a heart monitor during the class, which Amanda said aids in meeting the fitness goal they desire, whether it be building muscle or burning fat.
Before each class, Scott said the trainer will check every participant's fitness goals so workouts can be adapted for their goals. Each Volofit class is capped at 24 people.
“It feels like you have a personal trainer with the energy of a group class,” Amanda said.
Through its classes, Amanda said Volofit is aiming to greet members with friendly faces and create friendships through the gym.
“We’re really trying to build a community and bring people together," she said.
The gym is in the process of building out and is expecting to have a soft opening in mid-July before having its grand opening in September, Amanda said. It will be located in Colleyville at 5600 Colleyville Blvd., Ste J.
