Two Southlake retail stores will close as part of Bed Bath & Beyond plans of closing nearly 500 total stores across the country.

Bed Bath & Beyond is planning to close its 360 retail stores and 120 buybuy Baby stores across the country, including one in Southlake, after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy April 23.

The Bed Bath & Beyond is located at 2930 E. Southlake Blvd., while buybuy Baby is at 2901 E. Hwy. 114. A closing date has not yet been announced.

“We deeply appreciate our associates, customers, partners and the communities we serve, and we remain steadfastly determined to serve them throughout this process,” President and CEO Sue Gove said in a press release. “We will continue working diligently to maximize value for the benefit of all stakeholders.”

As it prepares to close, the company began offering closing sales April 26. Customers can redeem "Welcome Rewards" and use merchandise credits until May 15, according to the company’s website. Gift cards can be used until May 8, but coupons will not be accepted anymore.


Bed Bath & Beyond, which was founded in 1971, sells bedding, bath products, home decor and other specialty items. buybuy Baby was founded in 1996 by the Bed Bath & Beyond founders, according to the website.
