Southlake Spring Fest, which celebrates East and Southeast Asian cultures, had a three-year specific-use permit approved during the Southlake City Council meeting Oct. 1.

The fourth annual Spring Fest will be held Feb. 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rustin and Family Parks. In case of weather issues, it will be moved to Feb. 8, according to city documents.

What’s happening?

Due to an anticipated 3,000 to 5,000 people taking part in the event in 2025, organizers had to apply for a permit for the first time. Attendance has ranged from 1,500 to 2,800 people during the event's first three years, according to a presentation to council members.

City documents show that the organizers asked for a five-year approval, but council voted for a three-year approval.

The event has hosted booths and performances representing cultures from Japan, Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and other Eastern and Southeastern Asian countries since 2022, according to city documents.

The details

The event generally correlates with the Lunar New Year’s Day, or the Chinese New Year.

The festival will include mobile food trucks, live music, handmade crafts, art, jewelry and other vendors. The 2025 event will have 65 tents and 55 vendors, according to city documents.
