Standards of Care for the city of Southlake’s youth programs in 2020 were approved and adopted after a second reading and public hearing at a Nov. 5 meeting.

The Standards of Care are the minimum requirements the city of Southlake and Community Services Department operates city programs for elementary school-age children, per city documents. Details include staff responsibilities, ratios, qualifications and training, enrollment requirements and several facility standards.

The Parks and Recreation board unanimously approved the Standards of Care at an Oct. 14 meeting, leading to a first reading and approval by council at a Oct. 15 meeting, according to city documents.

No residents spoke during public hearing.

Approval connects to the city’s focus in safety and security as well as performance management and service delivery, per city documents.
