Current situation
A winter storm warning is in effect for Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant Counties. A mixed precipitation of cold rain, snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected to begin Thursday morning and continue through Friday morning, National Weather Service meteorologist Madi Gordon said.
The storm is expected to shift to all snow late Thursday night. With temperatures expected to drop as low as 30 degrees, anything wet on the road will create very hazardous travel Thursday night into the Friday morning commute, Gordon said.
“We’re expecting hazardous travel to develop with some slick spots around Thursday morning and then road conditions will deteriorate around midday,” she said.
