What we reported

In July, California-based Drive.ai piloted a self-driving car service in Frisco. The program has fixed pickup and drop-off locations around Hall Park and The Star in Frisco. A total of four bright orange Nissan NV 200 vans operate along fixed routes.

The program was done in collaboration with Frisco Transportation Management Association, or FTMA, a public-private partnership involving the city of Frisco, Denton County Transportation Authority, Hall Group, Frisco Station Partners and The Star in Frisco. The FTMA was launched last year in an effort to find multiple solutions to mobility in the area.

The latest

The program is expected to run through Jan. 31. Drive.ai executives are still in talks with city officials to determine a renewal and possible expansion of the program in Frisco, according to a
Drive.ai spokesperson.
