Pier 1 Imports will permanently close all of its stores, including the one in Frisco, after it sells off its remaining inventory starting on an unknown date. The Frisco store is located at 3321 Preston Road in The Centre at Preston Ridge shopping center.

The store is currently closed because of coronavirus-related restrictions but is expected to reopen for the liquidation process.

Pier 1, which is headquartered in Fort Worth, confirmed May 19 that the company is preparing to go out of business “as soon as reasonably possible” after failing to secure a buyer that would have allowed it to continue operating. The company has more than 500 stores nationwide.

“Unfortunately, the challenging retail environment has been significantly compounded by the profound impact of COVID-19, hindering our ability to secure such a buyer and requiring us to wind down,” Pier 1 Chief Executive Officer Robert Riesbeck said in a news release.
