Frisco Fire Chief Lee Glover is set to retire this summer after serving 35 years with the department, according to an April 7 city news release.

Glover joined the department in 1991 as one of the department's seven paid firefighters, and he later became fire chief in 2023, the release states.
“Leading this department over the past few years has been both a privilege and a responsibility that I have never taken lightly,” Glover said in the release.
During Glover’s tenure, the department has grown to have 265 sworn personnel and 34 civilian staff members. Additionally, the department was also awarded several accreditations for fire and ambulance services.
“These accomplishments are not the result of any one individual but rather the collective effort of a team committed to serving others with integrity and excellence," Glover said.
Next steps
Frisco City Manager Wes Pierson said he will begin searching immediately for the next chief. Glover’s last day as fire chief will be Aug. 3, per the release.
“Chief Glover served with honor and distinction,” Pierson said in the release. “He’s an example of excellence in his profession, serving with integrity while caring for the citizens of Frisco.”
